Gin Explorer EN B

The Explorer is a lightweight sports performance wing aimed at seasoned XC pilots who want to fly a wing that’s comfortable, responsive and performant.

Comfortable yet responsive

The handling of the Explorer has an internal balance of smoothness and lightness.  The wing is is well co-ordinated through It’s damped and forgiving pitch movements, yet the simpicity and precision in the turn makes it a first class climber in thermals. Take-off and landing couldn’t be simpler even in the most demanding of situations. The wing has an uncanny ability to seek out the best thermal cores making it easy to find the best lift and help you stay in it.

The Explorers design makes for comfortable high speed gliding during cross country flying. Direct C-riser control works really well and the lack of uneccessary C handles keeps everything simple and lightweight.

Naturally, the Explorer is a light glier, weighing in at under 4kg for the M size it’s one of the lightest wings in its category. This is a result of optimisation of the internal structure designed using the latest CNC lazer cutting technology. Using a careful selection of the correct canopy and line material cut with precision to the mm. The wide range of sizes and extended weight ranges offer flexibility in sizing choice according to your preferred wing loading. (ask your instrucor or coach for further details).

Extended weight range

Even when highly loaded, the Explorer shows good performance and excellent recovery characteristics. For this reason, we decided to certify the wing with a +5kg extended weight range for more experienced pilots who may sometimes want to fly with a higher wing loading. For general flying, the Explorer is best flown within the normal weight range according to your preference.

Certified with a Cocoon Harness

The Explorer has been through additional testing and acheived certification using the Genie Lite 2 cocoon harness, (a great companion and well matched to the flight characteristics of the glider).
